well,where do we begin.....let`s start with etienne....he obviously had no fight plan....he doesn`t hit real hard....he has a weak chin....so,you don`t want to turn this into a brawl....where was buddy mcgirt?....the wunderkind trainer....what was he doing with etienne in training?....to fight tyson,with etienne`s liabilities,you fight from outside....you jab...you push tyson away(ala lennox)...you clinch and wrestle....the idea is to take a guy,that by all reports,trained poorly and sporadically,into the middle to later rounds...etienne came out and chose to drop bombs from the git....and buddy mcgirt did a poor job....
look,i know etienne has to fight the fight....but,he obviously wasn`t at all prepared to even attempt to do what he needed to do to have a shot...i`ve lost some respect for mcgirt...he basically let etienne commit hari-kiri....you don`t give jack the ripper a knife,for god`s sake....
the good part is,we pushed the etienne+375 with the tyson under 4.5 rounds....we won a little with jeff lact under 6....so we made a small sized lunch tonight(i said in another thread,these weren`t actual plays,just for fun and very little money)....
i just get a little agitated when i see total non-preparation for a big opportunity....i understand you can`t get blood out of a turnip,but,it seemed like etienne and mcgirt said,"we`re gonna get blown out,don`t kill yourself trying to win".......they just gave jack the ripper a knife...act like you care....i was glad to see the fans in tennessee give etienne and mcgirt a fit as they tried to leave the ring.....alot of those people felt ripped off and with good reason...
and,tonya harding lost tonight.....the girl that beat her had better watch her knees
